Frequently Asked Questions

  • How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed throughout your course. Your instructor will ask you questions and you will perform practical skills (e.g. performing CPR on a manikin), written assessments (e.g. online learning) and scenario assessments (e.g. managing a role-played simulated emergency situation).Ā

After each assessment, you will be told whether you have met the assessment requirements. If not, you will have another opportunity to be reassessed.

  • Do I have to complete the online learning before the class?

Yes, absolutely! Our Comprehensive First Aid courses are blended - 4 hours self-learning and 8 hours of class time, which are the requirements for the NZQA unit standards. The class is much more enjoyable if you already have a basic understanding of key first aid concepts.

  • Do I need to bring lunch to my course?

Yes, we recommend students bring their own lunch as some of our venues are not located close to any food outlets. We offer complementary coffee/tea in the class.

  • What happens if I arrive late?

Depending on how late you are, you may not be able to join the class if you have already missed topics necessary to get a certificate. However, we will reschedule your class so please contact us. Please plan well in advance to be able to arrive at the venue on time.

  • Can I leave the class early?

No. We are unable to issue a certificate if you don't complete all topics of the course. Please make sure in advance that you can attend the full class on the day.

  • When will I get my certificate?

We will send your certificate by email within 10 days after the course to either your email address or your employer's email address (if booked through your company). If you need a hard copy, please let us know and we will send it to you by mail.Ā

Please note that the certificate will not be issued if your payment is not confirmed.

  • What do I do if I need to cancel my booking?

Please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible. We are happy to reschedule your booking or you may get a refund depending on how early you inform us.Ā

Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
